WHAT WE BELIEVE

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

CORE BELIEFS

The following are the core beliefs of Fellowship Bible Church based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the words Of God. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. The 66 books of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, are the complete Word of God. Being inspired by God, the Bible is entirely truthful, without error, and is the final authority for faith and life. Being written by a timeless God, the truths contained in. the Bible remain jus as relevant and authoritative for us today as in years past.

The Trinity

We believe there is one God who exists eternally in three distinct Persons—God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit. Each person of the Trinity is distinct from the others, yet each one is fully God, being equal in power and glory and having the same attributes and perfections.

The Father

We believe the First Person of the Trinity orders and directs all things according to His own purpose, pleasure, character, and grace. In His character He is everywhere present, all-knowing, all-powerful, unchanging and completely worthy of our trust, and above all, holy. In His purpose and plans from eternity past, He is the grand architect of both creation and the plan of redemption for sinners. As an infinitely loving and compassionate Father, he graciously involves Himself in the affairs of humanity longing for their salvation and spiritual growth.

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ has existed for all eternity. He is the Creator and Sustainer of the universe. He is the image of the invisible God and in whom the fullness of deity dwells in bodily form. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died a sacrificial death for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, and ascended to the right hand of God the Father. He continues to seek and save lost sinners. He remains the only mediator between God and man. At the appointed time He will return to earth to fulfill the Father’s plan for history.

Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit permanently indwells all believers the moment they place their faith in Christ as their Savior.  He guides and empowers believers to live lives that bring glory to God. He is the seal and guarantee of the believer's salvation. He leads believers into all truth and exalts Jesus Christ. He also convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment.

Salvation

We believe our sin separates us from perfect and holy God and is deserving of God's just punishment. This punishment is death and eternal separation from Him. However,Jesus Christ came to reconcile us with God. He lived a life without sin, yet willingly died on the cross and took the punishment for our sin in our place.  God raised him from the dead and now, by grace, offers eternal life  as a free gift to all who place their faith in Christ alone  for the forgiveness of their sins. Salvation can be found in Christ alone, through His fdeath and resurrection.

The Church

We believe the Church is composed of all who have placed their faith in Christ alone for salvation. The Church, as the body of Christ, is to be the hands and feet of Jesus in this world. The Church is sent into the world to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.
